01 · MEANING

What it means.

Siklet remembers the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It comes at the end of the demanding Lenten fast and prepares the faithful for the joy of the resurrection.

02 · TRADITION

How it is marked.

Churches hold extended services and worshippers may bow repeatedly in prayer. The mood is restrained; fasting continues and the rich feast associated with Fasika has not yet begun.

03 · EXPERIENCE

What you may see.

Visitors will notice the contrast between Siklet's stillness and Fasika's celebration two days later. Respectful dress, quiet observation and care around worshippers are appropriate.
